Between 18 and 65 years old
Insurance Status
Currently uninsured with no health insurance
Primary Care Provider
Do not currently have a primary care provider
Location
Reside in the Greater New Haven area
Health Conditions
No active cancer diagnosis or similar complex conditions requiring specialty management
Pregnancy
Not currently pregnant

Emergency Department / 911
Life-threatening emergencies
Best for
Chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke, serious injuries, or any situation that feels life-threatening. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
Cost
Emergency rooms care for anyone with a medical emergency, regardless of insurance or ability to pay.
How to get care
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Community Health Centers
Ongoing primary care for everyone
Best for
Non-emergency illnesses and regular, ongoing primary care — especially if you have insurance, need care more often than once a week, or aren't eligible for HAVEN.
Cost
Centers like Fair Haven Community Health Care and Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center welcome patients regardless of insurance or ability to pay.

HAVEN Free Clinic
Free care for uninsured adults
Best for
Free primary care and wraparound support if you're an uninsured adult (18–65) without a current primary care provider who meets our eligibility criteria.
Cost
All care at HAVEN is completely free.
